Nature Recovery Project Manager
Salary: Grade 7 (£39,355 – £46,735 p.a., depending on experience)
This position is based within the School of Earth and Environment at the University of Leeds, with the option for hybrid working. We also offer flexibility in working arrangements.
Are you experienced in leading and managing large-scale landscape restoration projects? Do you want to be at the forefront of nature recovery efforts across Northern England?
The University of Leeds is partnering with a range of organizations to drive community-led, evidence-based nature recovery across Northern England. Our existing projects include the Upper Duddon Landscape Recovery, Restoring Hardknott Forest, and Nature Rich Miterdale in Cumbria, as well as the Wild Ingleborough, Snaizeholme, and Gair Wood projects in Yorkshire. Partners include the National Trust, Woodland Trust, White Rose Forest, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, WWF, Forestry England, UBoC, the University of Cumbria, and Natural England. In addition to delivering these projects, we are actively monitoring the ecological, environmental, and social impacts of restoration efforts to influence policy and practice.
As the Nature Recovery Project Manager, you will lead the University of Leeds’ role in these initiatives, building partnerships to ensure successful project delivery. You will play a key role in securing funding for new landscape-scale projects and will spearhead knowledge exchange between projects and external partners, promoting best practices and shared learning. We are looking for someone with extensive experience in landscape-scale ecological restoration, a deep passion for nature recovery, and a drive to accelerate progress across the UK. Strong organizational skills, project management experience, and the ability to work independently are essential.
This is a full-time role based in Northern England, offering a mix of remote work and on-site project engagement.
