HCOOP/Acute Frailty Specialist Clinical Pharmacist (Band 7) – East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust

Are you an experienced, passionate pharmacist looking for an exciting new challenge? Join us as an HCOOP/Acute Frailty Specialist Clinical Pharmacist (Band 7) at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust (EKHUFT). This role is ideal for pharmacists who thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and are committed to providing outstanding care to high-acuity, complex patients. You’ll play a key role in delivering a responsive, proactive, and person-centred clinical pharmacy service while working within your professional scope.

Why join us? At EKHUFT, you’ll become an integral part of our supportive and collaborative team of pharmacists, technicians, and multidisciplinary colleagues. Your skills and contributions will be highly valued, and this non-rotational post offers a unique opportunity for career growth and the chance to make a real impact.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Integrated Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with the multidisciplinary team, attending ward rounds and collaborating with the HCOOP/Frailty lead to shape and improve the service.

Training and Education: Provide training to FY1 and FY2 doctors, supervise foundation pharmacists, and serve as an educational supervisor for trainee pharmacists, supporting their professional development.

Service Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our clinical pharmacy services and work on initiatives to enhance patient care.

Line Management and Supervision: Take on line management duties, including overseeing foundation pharmacists, providing practice supervision, and acting as an educational supervisor, allowing you to develop valuable leadership skills.

Professional Development: Pursue further qualifications, such as the Non-Medical Prescribing (NMP) course, to expand your skills and career opportunities.

What We Offer:

Collaborative Environment: Work alongside a dedicated and skilled team that values your expertise and contributions.

Career Development: We offer extensive training, educational opportunities, and pathways for career progression.

Impactful Role: You’ll have the opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of patients with complex, high-acuity conditions.

About Us: We are one of the largest NHS hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a population of around 800,000 people. Our vision is “Great healthcare from great people.” We are driven by our values: “People feel cared for, safe, respected, and confident that we are making a difference.” At EKHUFT, we are committed to empowering frontline staff through our “We Care” approach, which encourages staff-led improvements to enhance patient care. We’re looking for compassionate professionals to join us on our journey to make a positive difference for the patients, families, and carers we serve every day.
