JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an eager and hardworking Pharmacy Technician to join us in assisting the elective surgical ward following the opening of Solihull Hospital’s new Elective Hub.

Do you prefer working on a ward with a rapid turnover of patients?

Are you proactive, capable of working both independently and as part of a team?

Are you an effective communicator, both verbally and written?

Would you like to take on the exciting task of building a new service and developing novel ways of working as a Pharmacy Technician?

If this describes you, we would be delighted to hear from you!

Main responsibilities, tasks, and abilities required

As a ward-based Pharmacy Technician, you will work autonomously to support patient flow on the elective surgery ward. This will include medication reconciliation, ward-based dispensing, and patient counselling.

As your work progresses, you will take on more traditional Pharmacist responsibilities, such as clinically assessing inpatient drug records and TTOs for a specific group of patients.

There will be opportunities for this person to provide feedback into pre-assessment services.

You will perform general Pharmacy Technician activities within the department, including dispensary and checking duties as needed. You will also be involved in late-night, weekend, and Bank Holiday shifts.
