The Healthcare Informatics department at University Hospitals Birmingham (UHB) is offering an excellent chance to join the team in charge of the enterprise Data warehouse. This data repository supports all critical internal and external reporting, analytics, and research, making a significant difference for patients and staff throughout the Trust. We welcome applications from people with a variety of backgrounds, but you must have a strong interest in data and databases. This is an excellent opportunity to improve your abilities and learn from our professional team.
Shortlisted applicants will first be invited to an aptitude test, with the top performers being invited back for a full interview.
This position is headquartered in Yardley Court, Edgbaston, and requires a minimum of one day per week in office.
Main responsibilities, tasks, and abilities required
In this capacity, you will be:
*Develop your abilities in SQL, data management, and analytics to solve fascinating technological problems in healthcare.
*Gain understanding of NHS databases, processes, and analytical techniques.
*Help with projects to improve the quantity, quality, and usability of data available to consumers.
*Empower analysts by responding to technical queries and producing bespoke datasets with the supervision of senior team members.
*Learn the skills required to manage the new SQL Server 2019 Enterprise cluster.

Qualifications
Essential
* A minimum of 4/C in GCSE English and Maths.
* Degree-level or similar knowledge and skills in a numerical discipline.
* Evidence of continued professional development.
Experience
Essential
* Experience with database software and applications, particularly Microsoft products.
* Experience with database concepts:
o Experience with querying and building Dimensional Modelled Databases
o Understanding of dimensional data modelling approaches and relational database design.
* Understanding of querying complex datasets.
