Join us at Built Environment – Smarter Transportation (BE-ST) as an Impact Manager and contribute to our aim of accelerating the built environment’s transition to zero emissions.
Depending on your area of expertise, you will be responsible for scoping, designing, and delivering impactful work programmes in your region. You’ll have the ability to lead the way in shaping our strategy by developing cutting-edge solutions to meet the key difficulties we have as a country in reaching net zero.
You will be part of a transformational culture, working with large-scale public and commercial organisations to incorporate innovation in our high-impact significant projects to help them transition to zero carbon. You’ll be keeping an eye on what’s coming through future, foresight, and horizon scanning to help us continue to assist the sector in unlocking its potential and finding a route forward.
To improve our workforce’s skills and expertise, you will be able to share your wealth of knowledge by participating in the creation of training programmes. If your background is in energy, you will create programmes to help the Scottish Government’s just transition to clean heat.

Who are we looking for?
We’re a highly creative team in the innovation arena, and we’re searching for someone with expertise in energy and/or skill delivery to question the usual and bring forward unique ideas. If you have knowledge in either (or both) of the areas listed below, we would love to hear from you.
As a specialist in all aspects of skill delivery, you may have worked as a training provider, designing training courses including online content, and collaborating with industry, the tertiary sector, or schools.
Alternatively, you may consider yourself an energy expert, ready to share your knowledge on Scottish and UK net zero heat policy, the net zero heat supply chain, and the implications of a just transition for net zero heat to have an impact.
You’ll leverage your excellent contacts and exceptional relationship management abilities to build networks of like-minded people to help us transition to a more sustainable built environment.
At BE-ST, innovation is more than just a buzzword; it is how we create good change. So, we’ll be seeking for you to produce a diverse range of impactful innovation projects.

Salary: £44,263 – £56,021 per year (depending on experience), with annual pay increases every year!

We presently use a hybrid working model. Because of the nature of the work, some travel may be required within Scotland, as well as within the UK and internationally, however the primary location is our BE-ST campus in Hamilton (find us here).
