  • Location: Duxford, Cambridge.
  • Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (35 hours per week).

 

Are you a driven and skilled engineer looking for a rewarding new opportunity? We are now looking for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to provide excellence in scheduled maintenance, service, and reactive repair work for all electromechanical equipment in our Group Print and Operations distribution hub.

About the role

Group Print & Operations meets our customers’ global needs by printing, packing, and securely shipping millions of examination items. We are also in charge of maintaining the life-changing scripts returned by our students and preparing them for physical or digital assessment.

As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will have plenty of opportunities for creativity because you will be responsible for recommending and implementing continual improvement ideas on a wide range of complicated counting, packaging, sorting, and material moving equipment.

Maintenance activities:

Deliver periodic and condition-based preventative maintenance to ensure high levels of equipment reliability and maximise efficiency.

Ensure maintenance records are accurately maintained on the CMMS system.

Conduct first-level reactive service and repair work, diagnosing faults in a timely and effective manner.

Contribute to designing and continuously improving the overall maintenance schedule and strategy.

Other duties:

Provide engineering knowledge in the design and implementation of continuous upgrades to all electro-mechanical equipment.

Responsible for ensuring that suitable technical replacement parts and consumables are available.

Conduct risk assessments for personal and managed operations, as well as safety assessments of electromechanical equipment, to guarantee that the highest levels of safety are met.

About You

You will be a qualified electrical technician with strong general knowledge and practical experience in mechanics, pneumatics, and hydraulics. You must be able to understand PLC systems in order to troubleshoot them, and you should be able to design and change simple software programs.

You will have at least an ONC/HNC or similar engineering qualification, as well as relevant health and safety experience and IOSH training/certification.

Furthermore, it is preferable to have the Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671:2018 (2382), although training will be provided to an applicant with the aforementioned qualifications/aptitude and the capacity to pass the examination requirements.

This full-time role is based on-site at our Duxford, Cambridge headquarters. Some travel between sites is also required, necessitating the possession of a valid driver’s license.
