Job Description




Function: R&O facility.

Job Family: Shop Operations.

Job: Strip Report Inspector.

Role Summary/Purpose:

As an aeronautical inspector, you will be in charge of troubleshooting and reporting on customer-returned items. You will also be involved in the strip, rebuild, and testing of these devices. As an inspector, you will interact with different sectors of the business and provide support/guidance as needed. The role will also entail applying and implementing lean principles to help streamline the process whenever possible. While inspection and reporting will be the primary responsibilities, they will also include light repairs as part of the department’s Minor repair line.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Laying out components methodically and examining them in accordance with specifications and component maintenance manuals.
  • Raising all necessary documentation to finish the task.
  • Ensure traceability is maintained throughout the process.
  • Strip down and fix the propeller components.
  • Supporting engineering/quality investigations and project work as needed.


Additional responsibilities:

  • Minor blade repair.
  • Hand salvage.
  • Bearing reset.
  • Product disassembly.
  • Flexibility in Gate 0 and 1.



  • The candidate must have the skill and expertise to work on mechanical and hydraulic components.
  • They must demonstrate their ability to use thorough manuals, drawings, and other documents to support this requirement.
  • A minimum of an HNC in mechanical engineering, a time served apprentice, or a comparable level of knowledge and experience.
  • Must be computer literate and possess exceptional literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Attention to detail is vital.
