Summary

A Senior Manager is in charge of ensuring that a largely new product development site meets its annual operational plan, which includes responsibility for financial programme execution, facility budgets, and corporate compliance needs.

You will work across functional areas to improve product strategy and manage client relationships for Connected Aircraft’s customers in the United Kingdom, Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

Furthermore, owns and affects commercial company operating rules, as well as funds for New Product Introduction (NPI) programmes directed by functional policy.
The function provides autonomy in entering into/executing commercial arrangements within policy restrictions.
High levels of commercial judgement are required to attain the desired objectives.

 

Job Description.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Lead and guide the business team’s operations in order to maintain and improve the site’s financial performance.
  • Create and implement effective strategies to sustain and increase the site’s programme and product portfolio.
  • Lead the site’s senior leadership team.
  • Responsible for the site’s regulatory compliance.
  • Accountable for achieving functional, business, and overall corporate objectives. Integrate and build procedures that fulfil business demands across the organisation, participate in long-term planning, manage complicated issues within your functional area of expertise, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
  • Increasing commercial experience across countries, product lines, marketplaces, sales processes, and customer segments. Influences policies and guarantees delivery across vast, diverse sales areas.
  • Interprets internal and external company difficulties and suggests best practices for improving goods, processes, and services. Uses a grasp of industry trends to inform decision-making.
  • Leads people in developing innovative solutions to difficult projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, and customers. Has the ability to assess the quality of information received and to challenge conflicting data for analysis. Uses many internal and external resources outside of one’s own function to assist make a conclusion.
  • Typically, a Commercial Manager has senior professional direct reports. Has the ability to attract and retain talent. Frequently oversees medium to large teams, including multi-site projects. Leads functional teams or initiatives that demand moderate amounts of resources, are risky, or difficult. Communicates complicated messages and mostly negotiates inwardly with others to accept a new point of view. Influences peer behaviour and negotiates with external partners, vendors, or customers.

Required Qualifications

  • This position requires extensive product management experience.
  • The knowledge level is comparable to a Master’s degree from an authorised university or college.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and solve problems.
  • Proven ability to lead programmes and projects.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and carry out programmes.
  • Developed project management capabilities.
  • Strong experience with contract management.
  • Strong influence and leadership skills to discover creative solutions in a matrix organisation to address complicated projects

 

Desired skills/experience

  • Relevant expertise in the aviation/aerospace sector or other highly regulated business sectors
  • Good working grasp of Lean technique and principles.
  • Capability to manage many priorities within tight timelines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and correctness.
