Making things that help customers and businesses solve their problems. That’s a good thing.
Our goal at Capital One is to change credit, one good thing at a time. You could think of us as a credit card business. But the truth is that we’re also a tech company. And we’re here to make things better for our customers, our coworkers, and the people in our community.
One good thing about making it easier for our customers to get loans is that Capital One is a great place to start your career. If you join our team, you’ll be given early responsibility and work with other people on important projects. Graduates have been hired by us before, and we’ve always helped them reach their full potential. Just look at our CEO, Lucy Hagues. She started as a graduate and now leads the UK business. And that’s just one of many success stories.
We are committed to creating teams that are representative of our customers and the communities we serve. We welcome applications from everyone, and would particularly love to hear from you if you identify with an under-represented group in our industry, such as women, the LGBTQ+ community and ethnic minority candidates.
Product Managers at Capital One
Our Product Managers are responsible for creating visions and strategies that will help enhance our products. They do this by putting together a variety of options and approaches to problems, welcome different perspectives, look at things from every possible angle and make decisions to help us succeed.
During the two year Graduate programme you will rotate and cover products in a wide range of areas including: Marketing, Analytics, Technology and Operations, giving you the opportunity to get a broad understanding around our products and deeper understanding of Product Management. You can expect to get involved in technical, business and design issues as you lead the cross-functional teams who deliver on our products as well as taking end-to-end ownership and seeing initial ideas through to delivery. Part of your work will involve GAP and trend analysis, working collaboratively with people across the business, such as Tech and Design, to find, develop and enable innovative new solutions.
Being a graduate at Capital One isn’t just about your technical skills. There’s huge scope for personal growth too. Whether you see yourself as a future leader, a subject matter expert or something in between, you’ll have a manager, mentor and buddy to support you, as you carve a career path that’s great for you.
What you’ll need
- We don’t mind what degree background you have, what counts is that you are a skilled communicator and problem solver.
- You’ll have effective stakeholder management skills with an understanding of what it takes to create products and launch them into the market. Because you will be working across different business areas, you will also need an aptitude for learning new tools and technologies.
- You are someone who is curious, proactive and has the ability to affect others.
The Recruitment Process
To ensure a flexible and accessible process, every stage will be performed virtually. You’ll also have a dedicated recruiter to help you throughout and answer any questions you might have.
Step 1: After your original application, if you meet the eligibility criteria you will be sent out online testing to complete, which consists of a situational and strengths, and a numerical and verbal reasoning assessment.
Step 2: Next up, you will be invited to finish a one way video interview.
Step 3: You’ll get to (virtually) meet with one of our Product Managers to finish a Product interview.
Step 4: The assessment day, which includes a case study, a group activity, and an interview with one person. If you do well, we’ll give you a spot on the program!

Who We Are
We’re building Capital One into a top information technology company. Capital One’s founder and Chairman and CEO Richard Fairbank is still in charge. The company’s goal is to help its customers succeed by making banking smarter, easier, and more human. We know we’ve done a good job when our customers are happy and tell others about us. They are doing well, so we are doing well too.
We work best in a place that values openness and collaboration because they are ideals we all share. We think that different points of view lead to new ideas and that working together and respecting each other makes for better results. We raise each other and obsess about doing the right thing. Our associates serve with humility and a deep respect for their duty in helping our customers achieve their goals and realize their dreams. We want to change banks for good as a group.
