JOB SUMMARY
An interesting opportunity exists for a Clinical Pharmacy Technician to help the department provide a complete medications management service to the wards. The job holder will be responsible for providing support to all parts of the Pharmacy Service, including the dispensary.

The applicants must be:
Registered as a practicing Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and an up-to-date CPD record.
Have a current nationally accepted Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) qualification, or be ready to work towards it.
Demonstrable experience working at the Band 4 Technician level.

Provide extensive technical support to all department members who provide dispensary services.
Provide valuable input into the delivery of clinical pharmacy services to wards and departments.
Ensure that requests for pharmaceutical items are delivered on schedule and efficiently across the Trust by dispensing and issuing prescriptions, signed orders, and restricted medication orders.
Concentrate for extended amounts of time with regular interruptions to address other dispensary issues as they arise.
Providing ward-based pharmacy technician services to selected wards, such as medication reconciliation, assessing inpatient prescriptions, and ordering ward supply.
Giving patients and clinical personnel accurate and direct advice on pharmaceutical items.
As an accredited checking pharmacy technician, you will follow local policies and standard operating procedures.
Supervising student pharmacy technicians, pharmacy support personnel, dispensers, and trainees at the dispensary.
Working with chemists and technical professionals to provide a professional and complete medicines management service to all patients and workers across the integrated care system, including primary and secondary care.
Provide a significant amount of input into the pharmacy medicines management service.
