JOB SUMMARY

If you are an experienced Quantity Surveyor located in South Africa looking to emigrate to the UK, we would want to speak with you about permanent prospects in Scotland, where we are working on a number of important civil engineering projects in the renewable energy sector.

To be eligible, you must have at least 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a reputable primary civil engineering contractor and a valid Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent. A full relocation package is available, including a sponsorship visa, a ticket to the UK, and assistance with lodging upon arrival. We will undertake in-person interviews in South Africa later this year, and you should be willing to relocate to Scotland by late 2024.

Your mission.

As a quantity surveyor, you will be accountable for the following:

● Maintain strong personal safety and environmental standards in compliance with the company policy.

● Maintain clear communication with the team you’re working with.

● Manage, manage, and mentor your direct reports.

● Provide commercial engagement with supply chain partners through pre-contract discussions, contract screening, and input into subcontract documents.

● Commercial management of subcontractors includes collecting payments, getting final account agreements, and resolving disputed issues through negotiation, if necessary.

● Ensure the timely generation of trustworthy cost-performance data.

● Assist in the production of monthly and quarterly reports.

● Be responsible for change management, including ensuring adherence to contractual timelines and notices.

● Ensure compliance with risk and opportunity management protocols and notify the Management Team accordingly.

● Be accountable for the timely production of acceptable levels of payment applications in compliance with the specifications of the contract.

● Attend and contribute to all site commercial meetings. Offering commercial advise to the site crew.

● Organise time and duties for yourself and your commercial team.

Who are we searching for?

● A minimum of 5 years experience at the Quantity Surveyor level, demonstrating good fundamental business abilities.

● Proven ability to mentor and coach direct reports.

● Ability to create and sustain collaborative connections with the project team, which includes the client, project managers, and designers.

● Have the confidence and capacity to operate in a collaborative atmosphere and have a positive impact on outcomes.
