JOB SUMMARY

 

Are you passionate about creating delicious Indian cuisine? Ganushree Enterprises Ltd T/A Mohanthal Restaurant, a renowned Indian restaurant in Leicester, is seeking an experienced Indian Chef specializing in Gujarati cuisine. Due to high demand, our business is expanding, and we need a talented chef to join our team.

**Roles & Responsibilities:**

You will be responsible for preparing and cooking Indian food, with a focus on Gujarati dishes. This includes maintaining ingredient inventory, ensuring product quality and freshness, and delivering orders. You must follow recipes and hygiene standards, particularly in Indian curry expertise. You will work with a friendly and supportive team to create memorable customer experiences. Proficiency with equipment used in Indian-style cooking is essential. You must also understand different Indian cuisines, authentic tastes, ingredient combinations, and cooking styles.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities:**

– Maintain high standards of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene.
– Manage kitchen operations, including ingredient sourcing, inventory control, and kitchen equipment maintenance.
– Train and supervise kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and adherence to food safety regulations.

**Quality Control:**

1. Ensure hygiene, health, and safety standards are met, adhering to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations.
2. Conduct quality control checks and monitor compliance with regulations.
3. Perform quality checks on received goods.
4. Ensure adherence to recipe specifications.

**Leadership:**

1. Organize, staff, and direct the area of responsibility effectively.
2. Create daily schedules to meet staffing requirements.
3. Guide, motivate, and develop subordinate employees.

**Relevant Experience:**

1. Expertise in preparing various curries, especially Gujarati dishes.
2. Minimum 1 year of high-volume catering/banquet experience.
3. Excellent knowledge of food and health & safety regulations.
4. Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
5. Ability to manage food costs and maintain hygiene regulations.
6. Experience leading and mentoring a team in a high-volume restaurant environment.

**Benefits & Salary:**

– Annual salary: £35,000 to £39,000, depending on experience.
– Assistance with accommodation and free meals.
– 20 holidays plus 8 bank holidays per year.
