We are looking for a driven and experienced Pharmacist to join our Clinical Pharmacy Team at the Queen Elizabeth site as a Senior Support Pharmacist.

As a key member of a large clinical pharmacy team, you will work closely with the Specialist Pharmacist for Surgery, medical practitioners, and nursing staff. Your role will involve managing and supporting band 6 pharmacists and clinical pharmacy technicians to enhance patient care during their hospital stay while maintaining direct patient interaction.

To succeed in this role, you must develop strong working relationships, effectively prioritize tasks, and lead your team.

**Main Duties and Skills Required:**

We seek an enthusiastic clinical pharmacist with expertise in a specialist clinical area. You should have strong communication skills, a passion for improving patient care, and the ability to influence healthcare professionals on the optimal use of medicines.

In this patient-facing role, you’ll support the surgical team and understand treatment pathways. You will be supported to undertake or develop your knowledge in non-medical prescribing.

Your responsibilities will include:

– Providing clinical input to surgical wards and demonstrating expertise in the clinical specialty.
– Delivering services aligned with the priorities set by the Chief Pharmacist and Trust standards.
– Managing complex issues with limited information and demonstrating advanced clinical reasoning and judgment.
– Ensuring high standards of clinical services and timely screening of prescribed medications.
– Contributing to Cost Improvement Programs (CIP) and completing audits and Quality Improvement Projects (QIP).

**Person Specification:**

**Qualifications:**

– Essential: Vocational Master’s degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent), nearing completion of a postgraduate clinical pharmacy qualification, willingness to work towards non-medical prescribing qualification, and membership with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
– Desirable: Progress in a postgraduate clinical pharmacy qualification (Annex 21 roles).

**Experience:**

– Essential: Post-registration hospital pharmacy experience covering various specialties, participation in multi-disciplinary teams, commitment to high-quality care, teaching/presenting experience, dedication to Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and knowledge of hospital pharmacy and national guidelines.

**Additional Criteria:**

– Essential: Professional demeanor, motivation, reliability, ability to work with all staff levels, capacity to work under pressure, and ability to travel across Trust sites.
