Are you a devoted and enthusiastic Social Worker searching for a fresh opportunity to positively impact the lives of children and families? West Berkshire Council is looking for a dedicated candidate to join our Children in Care team as a Social Worker.

As a social worker, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Conducting examinations and offering assistance to children and families in need
  • Developing and implementing care plans to ensure children’s well-being.
  • Working with partner agencies to coordinate and provide necessary services
  • Conducting safeguarding investigations and taking the appropriate measures to protect children
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in line with applicable legislation and rules.

To excel in this profession, you must have the following talents and attributes:

  • A certified Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience working in a statutory social work context, preferably in children and family services.
  • Solid understanding of essential legislation, regulations, and processes.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, and the capacity to make educated decisions. – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills allow for effective involvement with children, families, and professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a demanding workload.

All roles are subject to an annual banding pay review until they reach the top of the pay grade (after successfully completing probation). All roles are eligible for the annual national pay award.
