We are now looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for our printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing division.
In this position, you will serve as a technical authority in a variety of PCB disciplines and equipment; provide governance and technical sign-off for any process/programme changes; and be accountable for work packages and meeting business milestones. Where relevant, you would additionally assist with the leadership of a small internal technical team.
Job Description.
The primary tasks for PCB Manufacturing Engineering are tactical.
- Manage delivery strategies while maintaining overall business awareness.
- Risk assessment and mitigation, along with problem-solving abilities. Has some autonomy in decision-making.
- Lead and coordinate small projects to achieve manufacturing yield excellence.
- Write machine programmes (SPI, Pick & Place, and AOI), create new procedures, and improve processes.
- Defines and advises on local operating practices, as well as novel processes and tooling designs.
- Using engineering knowledge, experience, and judgement, interprets data and makes recommendations for actions.
- Develops and reviews procedures. Influences the design for manufacturing. Identify and implement methods for continual improvement and the transfer of best practices. Understands process capabilities and constraints.
- Can identify and assess possibilities for improvement, as well as develop a delivery and execution plan.
- Prepare documentation for both new and existing production processes.
- Create manuals, control plans, and PFMEA.
- Prepare supporting documentation for the rectification of damaged material so that it can be returned to its original design / drawing intent.
- Investigate and drive RCCA on quality issues, ensuring that concerns are contained and corrective actions are taken to prevent recurrence.
- Implementation of Engineering modifications ECNs to ensure product conformity with AS9102 standards.
- Review and update engineering methods and/or quality standards in response to industry updates.
- The production cell serves as the focal point for machine/manufacturing/process faults or concerns, guiding and coaching those around it to find the best solutions.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree from an approved institution or college, or extensive experience in a manufacturing engineering area.
- Highly experienced experts with proven technical support on the PCB shop floor and a minimum HNC qualification will be evaluated.
- We are searching for applicants who specialise in either Surface Mount Manufacturing or Plated Through Hole (PTH) Manufacturing, as well as inspection processes/methodologies.
