About the role

Henley Business School is seeking an ambitious and research-focused Associate Professor in Accounting. The successful candidate will have a strong record of scholarly output in top accounting journals and a compelling research agenda. This role combines high-quality teaching with academic leadership and contribution to departmental administration.

The appointee will primarily contribute to the Accounting and Management Accounting modules across undergraduate and pre-experience master’s programmes. Administrative responsibilities and academic citizenship are expected, along with leadership roles in research and departmental activities.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct independent and collaborative research in accounting, demonstrating research leadership and pursuing funding opportunities.

Teach across a range of accounting topics, including Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, and Data Analytics in Accounting, as agreed with the Head of Department.

Undertake administrative duties, including module management, student supervision, and engagement in academic committees.

Actively contribute to the academic community through citizenship activities and mentorship of colleagues and students.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • PhD in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • Proven experience teaching at the university level.
  • Strong research record with publications in top-tier accounting journals.
  • Experience in data analytics within accounting is highly desirable.
