Role Overview

An outstanding secondary school in Dagenham (rated ‘Outstanding’ by ﹙Ofsted﹚) is seeking a dedicated and dynamic A‑Level Physics Teacher to join its high‑performing Science team from January 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner or a motivated early‑career teacher to work in a supportive, well‑resourced environment with committed learners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and rigorous A‑Level Physics lessons that challenge and inspire students.
  • Work collaboratively within the Science department to plan, deliver and refine curriculum sequences.
  • Support and contribute to the school’s broader STEM programme, including extra‑curricular activities, clubs or initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of curiosity, innovation and academic excellence across the classroom and beyond.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, assessment and feedback, ensuring students make excellent progress.
  • Participate in professional development and departmental meetings to support continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent accreditation.
  • Proven track record teaching A‑Level Physics, or strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm if you are newer to teaching.
  • Excellent classroom management skills, effective communication and ability to inspire students.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards and to professional growth.

Desirable:

  • Experience of leading STEM-related extra‑curricular activities.
  • A willingness to engage with professional development and to assume departmental responsibilities.
  • An appetite for working in a dynamic environment that values innovation, inquiry and student excellence.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.
  • For exceptional international candidates, visa sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route may be considered.
